Taurian Alpha was a planet used for pharmaceutical research for Traugott Corp.
The planet's trees were studied due to their long lifespan of tens of thousands of years. It was believed the chemical structure of the trees could hold the answer to immortality. They tried to synthesize a drug from it, but instead accidentally created the Taurian Alpha Virus. One of the most deadly viruses ever seen. In response to this, the planet was put under Galactic Quarantine. However, smuggling of the research still occurs.
